On Sunday, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao wished the Veerashaiva Lingayats and Linga Balija communities a happy birth anniversary of Basaveshwar, who was a social and spiritual revolutionary. Basaveshwar worked for an equal society and the nation, and he is considered a social visionary. He fought against discrimination based on caste, color, and gender almost 900 years ago. Basaveshwar reformed the religious values prevailing in society and fought against social evils.

Basaveshwar established the ‘Anubhava Mantap’ system that represents all castes, and he sowed the seeds of parliamentary democracy. The State government organizes Basaveshwar’s birth anniversary every year, and it works towards the welfare of Dalits, Backward castes, Tribals, and women. To inspire future generations about Basaveshwar, the CM has established his bronze statue on Tank Bund. The government allocated Rs 10 crore funds for the construction of Basava Bhavan in Kokapet, an expensive area. The revolutionary’s philosophy of equality will be pursued in Basava Bhavan.
