Hyderabad: The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi (BGUS), a devotional organization known for celebrating mass Ganesh Utsav since 1980, has achieved global recognition. It started with 1,400 idols in 1980, and this year, it is organizing 1,40,000 Ganesh pandals or mandaps.
On Sunday, BGUS shared that these grand festivities aim to promote unity among the people of Bhagyanagar and protect the city from anti-national threats.
For the 45th Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav in 2024, a special Ganesh Puja was held at the Samithi’s central office in Baheti Bhawan. The puja was led by the Samithi’s President Raghava Reddy, along with key members like General Secretary Rajavardhan Reddy, Vice President Vaikuntam, and Treasurer Sriram Vyas.
Several important guests and dignitaries attended the event. These included Shamji, an RSS national leader, MP Eatala Rajender from Malkajgiri, MP Konda Visveswara Reddy from Chevella, MLA Rakesh Reddy from Armoor, and RSS Pracharak Amaralinganna. Women leaders from BGUS, Aruna Jyothi, and Dasharatha Lakshmi, also participated in the puja.
During the event, MP Eatala Rajender and other speakers expressed their hopes for a successful festival. They emphasized the importance of unity among Hindus through devotion to God (Daiva Bhakti) and love for the nation (Desha Bhakti). They also encouraged the celebration of the festival with all citizens, promoting the values of “Swadesham” (love for the country), “Swadharmam” (duty), and “Swasamskruti” (culture).
BGUS committee members announced that the 45th Samuhik Ganesh Nimmajjan (mass immersion) will begin with a puja and conclude with a grand immersion procession on September 17, marking the eve of Anantha Chaturdashi Day.
