Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu wants APHMEL to reach a global level. On Thursday, he visited the Singareni subsidiary APHMEL in Ibrahimpatnam, near Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, with Singareni CMD Balram. He met with workers and later spoke to the media.
Bhatti highlighted that APHMEL has excellent machinery and skilled workers, superior to many companies worldwide that make and repair industrial parts. He believes the company needs commitment and a global mindset to succeed internationally.
He revealed plans to hire a consultancy to evaluate local conditions and provide a report on the company. This report will help the government decide on the next steps. Bhatti stressed that better performance by officials and staff will lead to more profits, creating jobs for local youth and aiding state development.
The Deputy CM emphasized maintaining a clean plant, overhauling, and painting the machinery. He insisted that staff must strictly adhere to safety protocols. Progress depends on the workers’ dedication and ambition.
He urged the industry not to limit itself to making and repairing machinery for Singareni Collieries only but to take on orders from across the country, similar to BHEL.
Bhatti noted that APHMEL produces and repairs equipment for thermal power stations. The state government is considering strategies for the company’s future development.
