Gadwal: District Collector B.M. Santosh has highlighted the importance of raising public awareness about the new Bhoo Bharati Act-2025. He took part in an awareness seminar held at the Tahsildar’s office in Erravalli Mandal on Saturday, aiming to educate farmers about the act’s features and benefits.
During the seminar, Collector Santosh explained that the Bhoo Bharati Act was introduced to give complete land ownership rights to farmers and to settle land disputes permanently. He said this new law is meant to replace the existing Dharani system.
The Collector mentioned that the Bhoo Bharati Act includes 23 sections and 18 regulations. These are designed to make land administration more scientific and transparent. He also announced the upcoming launch of ‘Bhoodhaar’, a special land identification number similar to Aadhaar. This ID will include accurate survey data, land boundaries, and other important details for each plot.
He added that the act allows for corrections in current land records and requires that a land survey and map be prepared before any land registration or ownership changes take place. It also helps resolve informal land agreements (known as Sada Bainamas) more quickly and ensures faster processing of inheritance-related changes.
The act offers a two-level appeal system to fairly handle land disputes. It also supports the creation of updated records for all types of land—residential, agricultural, and non-agricultural. The government plans to provide free legal help to poor farmers soon.
This new law gives officials the power to manage village land records more accurately and cancel fake or illegal claims on government land. Collector Santosh said that Bhoo Bharati will be a long-term solution for farmers’ land problems and encouraged farmers to learn about the law and share the information with others in their villages.
The seminar was attended by Additional Collector Lakshmi Narayana, RDO Srinivasa Rao, DCCB Chairman Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, Library Corporation Chairman Neeli Srinivasulu, PACS Chairman Ranga Reddy, Tahsildar Naresh, farmers, and other local leaders.
