BHUPALAPALLY: District Collector Rahul Sharma emphasized that the grain procurement process should be smooth for farmers.
He visited grain procurement centers in Lakhsmareddi village and Dhanalakshmi Agro Industries Rice Mill at Burrakayal Gudem on Friday with other officials. During the visit, he checked the moisture content of the grain and advised staff to maintain the required moisture levels. To avoid delays for farmers, he instructed that grain arriving by vehicles should be unloaded without delay, and enough workers should be available for this task.
He directed Revenue department officials at each rice mill to ensure that grain vehicles are promptly unloaded, preventing farmers from facing repeated moisture checks.
By Friday, 74,425 metric tonnes of grain had been collected from 12,319 farmers. This season’s grain procurement is much higher than last year, which was 43,990 metric tonnes.
The total grain procured is valued at 172.66 crore, with payments of 79.68 crores already made. This season, there is an increase of 30,435 metric tonnes compared to the previous year.
