Gadwal: Kompati Bhagat Reddy, the BJP Aiza Town President, led a group of BJP leaders to meet the Municipality Commissioner. They requested urgent measures to stop illegal use of government land.
The leaders pointed out an issue with Survey Number 936, opposite the Aiza Police Station in Budaga Jangala Colony. They said three acres, once given for farming 40 years ago, are now unlawfully occupied.
The land, not being farmed, had its allocation canceled by the government a few years back. The person involved disputed this cancellation in court, claiming it was unfair. The court asked the District Collector to look into it but didn’t decide on the matter.
Without a final court decision, the occupier has put up a sign claiming court ownership of the land and warning others against entering, threatening legal action.
BJP leaders are worried about this situation. They mentioned that revenue officials are investigating, but it’s unclear if the land has been reallocated.
They also accused the occupier of raising the land’s soil level, which might cause flooding in Budaga Jangala Colony during heavy rains. There are also concerns that the land could be sold as plots, turning public land into private gain.
The BJP group called for the removal of the unauthorized sign and soil, prevention of illegal sales, and legal action against the occupier.
They questioned any decision to give the land back to one person, suggesting that if reallocation happens, it should be fair to others, including journalists.
Bhagat Reddy warned that without government action, the party plans to organize large protests to protect public land and ensure accountability.
Prominent BJP members like Pradeep Kumar, B. Nagaraju, Rajasekhar, and Raju also participated, supporting the call for justice and transparency.
