BJP dedicated to advancing Ambedkar’s ideals, says Kishan

Hyderabad: Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G Kishan Reddy, said that the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre has launched many programmes to honour Dr B R Ambedkar’s legacy. He highlighted that these efforts are being led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On Sunday, Reddy, who is also the Telangana BJP president, paid tribute to Dr Ambedkar at the state BJP office. He also helped clean Ambedkar’s statues located at GVK Circle in Banjara Hills and Sitaphal Mandi in the Secunderabad constituency.

While speaking to the media, Reddy said that the Modi government follows the ideals of Dr Ambedkar. He pointed out that Ambedkar’s portrait has been placed in the Central Hall of Parliament and that he was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour.

Reddy also shared that the government has identified five important places linked to Ambedkar’s life, naming them ‘Panchatirthas’. These places have been developed as sites of national importance and attract many visitors. One of these is Ambedkar’s birthplace in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, which has been turned into a memorial.

To mark Ambedkar’s 134th birth anniversary, the BJP is holding grand celebrations across the country. On Sunday, the party began a special drive to clean and decorate statues of Ambedkar as part of the celebrations.

Kishan Reddy added that Ambedkar spent his life fighting against the Congress party. He mentioned that former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru had once campaigned against Ambedkar in elections. He also criticized the Congress party for not awarding Ambedkar the Bharat Ratna during their time in power.

Despite Ambedkar’s key role in drafting the Indian Constitution and fighting for social justice, Reddy said Congress did not give him the recognition he deserved. He accused the party of harassing him during his final years.

Reddy concluded by saying that the BJP government is committed to fulfilling Ambedkar’s vision. He called on people from all backgrounds to join in the celebrations and honour Ambedkar’s legacy in a grand and festive manner.
