Hyderabad: On Tuesday, many leaders and activists from the Makthal Assembly constituency in Mahabubnagar district joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This move is part of an effort to strengthen the party before the Panchayat Raj elections.

BJP Telangana State President Ramchander Rao welcomed these new members by giving them the party scarf, which shows the party’s growing strength in local areas.

Speaking on Wednesday, Rao emphasized the need for unity and dedication. He said, “We must work harder to strengthen the party in the future.” He accused the Congress-led state government of spreading false information and failing to solve the urea distribution issue. Despite the Centre providing 12.02 lakh metric tonnes, more than the needed 9.5 lakh metric tonnes for Telangana’s Rabi season, problems persisted.

Rao pointed out issues in urea supply and accused the state government of poor management, leading to black marketing and shortages, especially in Makthal, known as the state’s cotton seed area. He blamed the state agriculture department’s lack of oversight and alleged that some Congress leaders were involved with fertilizer dealers.

Highlighting the party’s plans, Rao stated that the BJP has strong support across the state. He encouraged party members from all levels to unite for upcoming elections, demanding 42% reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) and criticizing Congress for opposing it.

Ahead of his visit to Mahabubnagar district on July 24, Rao called for complete unity among BJP members, both new and old, to win public trust and achieve success in the upcoming assembly elections.
