Hyderabad: Telangana BJP Vice-President and former MLA NVSS Prabhakar has criticized the AIMIM party and its leaders. On Monday, he warned MIM corporators and said it was time to question their leadership, especially Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, for not doing enough to help poor Muslims. He claimed that the party is using the community for political gain while ignoring their real problems.

Prabhakar said that the AIMIM has been controlled by one family for the past 50 years. He pointed out that Asaduddin Owaisi, along with his brother, father, and grandfather, have all held positions like corporator, MLA, and MP. Despite their long rule in the old city of Hyderabad, he said that local vendors and poor Muslims are still struggling. He blamed the MIM’s leadership for the rise in illiteracy and unemployment among Muslim youth, saying the party has failed to improve their lives.

He also asked MIM corporators to stand up to the Owaisi family in the upcoming MLC elections. Prabhakar said there is a secret understanding between Congress, BRS, and MIM, and that the Owaisi family has always received support from the ruling parties in the state. He also accused Asaduddin Owaisi of leading protests against the new Waqf Board Amendment Act even before it was put into action.

Prabhakar further alleged that many Muslim leaders protesting the Act have actually taken over Waqf lands. He referred to reports saying that out of 75,538 acres of Waqf land in Telangana, 70% is either under dispute or has been taken over by powerful individuals. He claimed that Owaisi is using these issues to blame the Modi government for political reasons.

Finally, Prabhakar rejected Owaisi’s claims that Muslims are being discriminated against under the Modi government. He said that Muslims are now safer and are receiving benefits from central government welfare schemes.
