Kothagudem: BRS leader and MLC K Kavitha said that only the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) can protect Telangana from the Congress party. She made these comments while attending a small meeting with BRS workers in Bhadrachalam on Monday, as part of her tour in the old Khammam district.
Kavitha accused the Congress government of misleading the public. She claimed that in just 18 months, the government has taken on a debt of ₹1.60 lakh crore. She said officials avoid giving clear answers when asked for details in the Assembly. According to her, in a democracy, the government must be transparent about how money is spent.
She also said that although three ministers in the State Cabinet are from the joint Khammam district, they haven’t helped the region at all. “They haven’t brought even a single rupee to the district,” she added.
Kavitha criticized local MLA Dr. Tellam Venkat Rao for leaving BRS and joining the Congress, even though BRS had strong support in Bhadrachalam. She said, “The BRS has faced many such betrayals, but if there is a by-election in Bhadrachalam, only the pink flag of BRS will win.”
She went on to say that 60% of people have not received the promised loan waivers, and 50% of farmers have not received crop insurance. She promised to act as a link between BRS chief KCR and the party workers, making sure their concerns are heard. “The top responsibility of BRS activists is to protect Telangana,” she said.
Earlier in the day, Kavitha visited the Lord Rama temple in Bhadrachalam and offered prayers.
Other leaders who attended the meeting included MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra, MLC Tata Madhu, and former MLA Regakantha Rao.
