Hyderabad: BJP spokesperson Amaranath Sarangula criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for making unfounded claims about the central government’s actions and accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of neglecting Telangana's development.

On Monday, Sarangula addressed the media, highlighting that CM Revanth Reddy has been in office for 16 months but hasn’t initiated any new projects. He questioned Reddy’s “Young India is my brand” slogan, asking if any progress had been made on the proposed Skills University.

Sarangula stressed the need for special attention to Hyderabad, pointing out, “Potholes are common on roads in areas worth Rs 100 crore per acre, managed by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).” He criticized the GHMC, noting that despite a Rs 3 lakh crore state budget, conditions remain poor, with only Rs 3,000 crore allocated. He cited a recent tragedy where 17 people died in a fire near Charminar, mentioning the fire department’s meager Rs 10 crore budget. The fire brigade’s delayed response of an hour and a half was questioned, asking, “Is this governance?” He claimed there is no room for development under Congress rule, which only leads to destruction and distress.

He further lamented that in Hyderabad, the government demolishes homes rather than aiding their development. Sarangula challenged Revanth Reddy to build a park and restore a pond. He expressed concerns about the government’s neglect towards the water mafia in Hyderabad, where even light rain leads to sewage overflow, harming the poor’s properties.

He accused the Chief Minister of making inaccurate statements about central funding. The state must contribute 30-40% to schemes like AMRUT and Smart City, but Congress claims the Centre withheld funds, ignoring the state’s lack of investment. Sarangula urged the government to release a white paper on central scheme funding.

He emphasized Hyderabad's rich history and bright future, urging the state government to collaborate with the central government for the city’s development.
