The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau arrested a man who was trafficking people to Cambodia for work in call centers that scam people. Mohammad Shadab Alam, along with three others, collected money from a person in Telangana and sent him to Cambodia. The victim was promised a good job but was mistreated by the Chinese nationals running the call centers.
The victim’s mother filed a complaint, leading to the arrest of two suspects. Shadab Alam was caught in Delhi upon his return from Dubai. The victim in Cambodia was forced to work long hours, beaten, and confined when he didn’t obey orders.
Authorities advise people to carefully check job offers before going abroad. If you suspect a scam or have been a victim, contact the police immediately.
