Hyderabad: Leaders from the BRS party have criticized the Congress party for misleading promises about providing 42% reservations for BCs.
A meeting of BC leaders was held on Tuesday, led by senior leader Talasani Srinivas Yadav and the party’s working president KT Rama Rao. They accused the Congress of deceiving BCs at every step, from the caste census to the new government ordinance. Rama Rao discussed how the Congress has consistently betrayed BCs, particularly regarding the 42% reservations in local bodies.
The leaders claimed the Congress knew their proposed law would not pass and are now staging a drama with a new ordinance. They accused the Congress of reducing the number of BCs through flawed census methods and enumeration processes.
BRS leaders charged that the Congress has failed to honor any promises made in the BC declaration. They argued that the Congress’s actions were dishonest from the start, especially in the reservation process for local bodies. Despite knowing the flaws, the Congress, according to BRS, is using legal loopholes to evade responsibility, further deceiving BCs.
The leaders expressed anger that the Congress presented a flawed caste census as a national model, misleading both Telangana citizens and others nationwide. They accused the Congress of betraying BCs by not implementing promised initiatives and halting schemes started by the previous BRS government, neglecting the needs of the poor and weaker sections.
