Hyderabad: On Monday, the Gachibowli police issued summons to BRS party leader Manne Krishank in connection with four FIRs related to protests at the University of Hyderabad. He has been asked to appear for questioning on April 9 and 10.

Responding to the summons, Krishank, who is the BRS social media convener, said that 21 cases have been filed against him over the past 16 months. Most of these cases are based on his posts on the social media platform X. He claimed that his posts were expressions of dissent and public concern, not acts of crime.

Krishank shared a list of the cases filed against him. One case was registered at the Madhapur Police Station after a complaint by former TPCC Working President Mahesh Kumar Gowd. Another case at Petbasheerabad Police Station led to the seizure of his phone over a post about Congress leader Sudarshan. He was also involved in the Gun Park Protest Case after demonstrating near the Martyrs’ Statue.

Additional cases include Cyber Crime FIR No. 680/2024, though no further details were given. In the Osmania University Circular Case, Krishank was jailed for 10 days in Chanchalguda for allegedly sharing a fake notice about a power cut. He also faced a case for a social media post titled “Where Was the CM Sleeping,” which questioned the Chief Minister’s absence during a midnight Assembly speech by KTR.

Krishank called the cases an act of political revenge meant to silence opposition voices. He said he would cooperate with the investigation but would also continue to speak out on important issues.
