The decision of the BRS chief to run for office in Kamareddy will boost the morale of party leaders in nearby areas. This comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the National Turmeric Board. The BRS and BJP have been in a big fight in the Nizamabad district, with the BJP gaining ground after the defeat of BRS leader K Kavitha. However, the impact of the Turmeric Board announcement may be less due to various reasons, including a nine-year delay. There is no clarity on where the board will be set up. BRS leaders are accusing the BJP of using the announcement as an election drama. The concern for BRS leaders is that the BJP performed well in the municipal elections. To boost confidence, Nizamabad leaders asked the party chief to run for office in Kamareddy. The BRS leaders believe they can take credit for the Turmeric Board announcement, claiming that their pressure forced the Centre to make the announcement.
