Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) held a large protest at Ambedkar Square in Wanaparthy district. They opposed the Congress party for spreading false information about the Kaleshwaram project after the Ghosh Commission was set up.
Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, a former minister, participated in the protest. He accused both the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) of betraying Telangana by not building key projects on the Godavari and Krishna rivers when the state was united. Reddy praised Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao for completing the Palamuru and Rangareddy projects, which now irrigate 1.2 million acres. He claimed the Kaleshwaram project has supplied water to 7 million acres in just three years.
Reddy criticized Congress leader Revanth Reddy for misusing funds and trying to harm KCR by starting an inquiry into the Kaleshwaram project. He mentioned that Central Water Resources Engineers called KCR’s work a ‘miracle’. He suggested Revanth’s actions were politically motivated by loyalty to former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
The former minister accused Congress of creating distractions to hide their failures, especially regarding the unfinished 10% of the Palamuru Ranga Reddy project, which is still incomplete two years into their rule. He urged Revanth to focus on helping Palamuru’s farmers instead of playing political games.
Reddy mentioned Rahul Gandhi’s recent statements about federal agencies, implying that Revanth’s demand for a CBI inquiry into the Kaleshwaram project aligned with Modi’s agenda. He praised KCR’s government for greatly increasing food production, claiming it now exceeds Punjab’s output.
In conclusion, Reddy expressed confidence that attempts to undermine KCR would not succeed. He assured that voters would back KCR in the upcoming local elections and that Revanth would learn a lesson for his alleged dishonesty.
