Hyderabad: The BRS party on Wednesday demanded that the government stop the “high drama” surrounding the HYDRA initiative. They urged the government to first provide double-bedroom houses to people affected by demolitions. The BRS also promised legal support to the victims and called for the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court to intervene in the situation on their own.

BRS working president, KT Rama Rao (KTR), criticized the government for targeting the poor while ignoring the wealthy and powerful. He said, “There cannot be one law for the powerful and another for the poor. We will not stay silent.” KTR made these statements after visiting sewage treatment plants (STPs) in the city. He accused the government of having double standards and challenged them to take action against those who issued illegal permits and builders who broke the rules. He also criticized the previous Congress government for allowing illegal encroachments and faulty permissions.

KTR expressed his anger over the demolition of homes belonging to poor people. He shared the story of a seven-year-old girl named Vedashree, who wasn’t even given time to collect her school books before her house was destroyed. He also mentioned that pregnant women and small shop owners were impacted by these “heartless actions,” calling such moves “inhumane.”

KTR assured the public that the BRS legal team would fully support the victims of the HYDRA demolitions. He encouraged affected people to contact Telangana Bhavan or their local BRS MLAs for help. He also warned that if the government continued its harsh actions against the underprivileged, the BRS would step in to protect them. “We will block the bulldozers if necessary,” KTR said. He urged the judiciary to take notice of the government’s attempts to suppress justice and silence the voices of the vulnerable.
