The ruling BRS party is facing some problems because some party leaders who didn’t get tickets are openly criticizing the party and threatening to quit. To prevent any damage, BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao has called senior leaders and ticket aspirants from troubled constituencies to discuss and pacify them.
One such constituency is Patancheru, and KCR has summoned Neelam Madhu Mudiraj to Pragathi Bhavan. Madhu, who wanted the party ticket, was upset that the party ignored the Mudiraj community and gave the ticket to G Mahipal Reddy.
During the meeting with KCR, Madhu expressed his intentions to contest and requested the ticket. KCR responded positively and said he would discuss it with party working president KT Rama Rao after his US trip. Mahipal Reddy was also present in the meeting.
Some senior leaders who didn’t get tickets are considering joining the Congress if the BRS leadership doesn’t listen to their views. Uppal MLA Bethi Subhash Reddy, who was denied a ticket, has given a 10-day deadline to the party leadership before deciding his next move. He has been working for the party for 23 years and feels ignored by the high command. He is considering joining either the Congress or the BJP.
Tummala Nageswara Rao, another senior leader, is also looking towards the Congress after being denied a ticket from Palair. Bhadrachalam Congress MLA Podem Veeraiah believes Tummala’s entry into the Congress will strengthen it.
Station Ghanpur MLA T Rajaiah is uncertain about his future and believes time will decide. Although party leaders wanted him to contest for Lok Sabha and offered an MLC seat, he wants to serve people as an MLA.
