Gadwal: In a bold move, BRSV State Leader and District Coordinator, Mr. Kuruvu Pallayya, has called for the immediate closure of New Geethanjali High School in Aiza Mandal. He urged authorities to revoke the school’s recognition due to poor conditions.
Mr. Pallayya visited the school and described it as worse than a “cattle shed.” He pointed out that the school fails to meet educational standards and government safety rules.
Serious Issues Highlighted:
Classroom Conditions: The school’s classrooms are filthy and unsafe. Students sit near bathrooms, raising health concerns.
RTE Violations: The school lacks necessary certifications for sanitation, traffic safety, and fire safety, violating the Right to Education Act.
Unsafe Facilities: Operating in temporary structures, the school lacks essentials like drinking water and functional toilets.
Financial Exploitation: Parents are pressured to buy expensive notebooks, uniforms, and other items, costing them lakhs.
Health Risks: Children study and eat in dusty classrooms, causing allergies and health problems. There’s no clean dining or play area.
Fire Hazard: The absence of fire safety measures puts children at risk in emergencies.
BRSV’s Demands:
- Cancel the school’s recognition immediately.
- Take legal action against the school administrator, Venkatesh, for legal violations and exploiting parents.
- Suspend the Mandal Education Officer (MEO) for alleged collusion and inadequate inspections.
- Investigate how the school operated for years without basic facilities or legal compliance.
Protest Participation: Mr. Pallayya was joined by former BRSV Town President Veeresh, along with Raju, Naresh, and other activists.
This situation underscores the challenges faced by families in rural areas with limited school options. Activists are urging the District Education Officer (DEO) and Collector to act swiftly to ensure children’s safety and uphold educational standards. Further investigations are expected.
