State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vikas Raj has emphasized the importance of registering every eligible person in Hyderabad as a voter. He inaugurated a training program on voter registration for booth level officers, supervisor officers, and representatives of residential welfare associations from 24 assembly constituencies under GHMC at Banjara Bhavan in Banjara Hills.

During the event, Vikas Raj highlighted the need for cooperation between voters and representatives of residential colonies to ensure successful registration. Booth level officers (BLOs) are responsible for creating a plan to register eligible people as voters, including those living near the colony. This process should be completed within 10 days and the details should be uploaded on the website. Chief Additional Election Officer Lokesh Kumar stressed the importance of accurate voter lists, addressing errors such as changes in polling stations or border constituencies, photo mismatches, spelling mistakes, house number discrepancies, address changes, and mistakes in date of birth or relationship. Form-8 should be used for changes and additions to the voter list.

Hyderabad District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose emphasized the need to increase the voting percentage in the GHMC area. Alongside voter registration, efforts should be made to address changes, additions, and measures to boost voting turnout. Steps should be taken to prevent accusations of multiple family members registering at different polling stations.
