Hyderabad: Eight officials from the Chennai Water Board, Tamil Nadu, visited the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) on Tuesday.
Their visit aimed to learn how the Hyderabad water board provides services to the people. This included studying the supply of fresh water, sewage management methods, the use of technology, and how the board handles revenue.
Praveen Kumar, the Director of Revenue at HMWSSB, gave a detailed presentation to the Chennai team. He explained the various services offered by the water board and the recent reforms. The presentation highlighted the modern machines used for drinking water and sewage management, such as jetting machines and sewer crack machines. These services extend not only within Hyderabad but also up to the Outer Ring Road (ORR).
The team was also introduced to the board’s digital monitoring systems, Annual Maintenance System (AMS), Safety Protocol Teams (SPT), and apps developed by the IT department to improve efficiency.
Additionally, the safety measures for workers were discussed. This included annual safety awareness events, standard operating procedures, equipment provided to workers, and insurance facilities arranged for their protection.
