Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has ordered an investigation into issues with how pensions are being granted by officials. The State Government has identified two and a half lakh fake pensions so far.

The Chief Minister is very concerned about the problems in the pension system. Reports suggest that officials at the district level may also face suspension.

Problems have been discovered, such as changing ages on Aadhaar cards to receive old age pensions, using fake certificates to get disabled pensions, and irregularities in pensions for widows and single women.
