Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met with defected MLAs at his home on Sunday. This meeting followed Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar issuing notices to them after a Supreme Court decision.
Deputy CM Bhatti and Ministers D Sridhar Babu and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy also attended. They discussed how to address the problems the MLAs faced due to recent developments. The meeting, lasting several hours, included the MLAs having separate discussions with the CM. Revanth Reddy promised the MLAs that PCC Chief B Mahesh Kumar Goud would help resolve disagreements among constituency leaders.
Previously, the BRS legislative party complained to the Speaker that these MLAs should be disqualified. They argued that the MLAs, elected on BRS tickets, switched to the ruling Congress party. The Speaker’s notices requested the defected MLAs to attend a hearing and provide explanations. So far, only a few MLAs have responded, while the rest have not yet replied.
