In Hyderabad, doctors are warning about an increase in dengue cases due to the monsoon season. The Health department has issued guidelines for people to follow during this time. Cases of dengue have been reported in various places like Kukatpally, Toopran, and Kamareddy. The virus has evolved, making it more dangerous after Covid.

Parents are advised to watch for warning signs in their children, such as fever, nausea, body pains, headache, and falling white blood cell count. If these symptoms worsen, it could indicate severe dengue which requires immediate medical attention. Giving paracetamol and ensuring good intake of liquids is recommended.

Doctors caution against giving certain medicines like Aspirin and Ibuprofen, which can suppress platelets. If a child’s platelet count falls below a certain level, they should be taken to the hospital immediately. Larvae control in various places is also important to prevent mosquito breeding.

The Health department has issued an advisory for citizens to stay healthy during the rainy season. This includes observing a dry day every Friday to eliminate stagnant water, cleaning septic tanks, maintaining drains, and ensuring children wear protective clothing.
