Hyderabad: The city is gearing up for the celebrations of Milad-un-Nabi and the Ganesh immersion procession. Hyderabad City Police have quickly organized plans to ensure everything goes smoothly. City Commissioner C V Anand led a video meeting to discuss security and preparation strategies.
During the meeting, Commissioner Anand emphasized that arrangements are in place to ensure the Thursday night Milad-un-Nabi celebrations and the Saturday Ganesh idol processions proceed without issues. Since Prophet Muhammad’s birthday is on September 5, the police have adjusted plans for the immersion.
The main Ganesh immersion event is scheduled for Saturday, with special measures for the Khairtabad Ganesh idol. The process is expected to take about 40 hours, and all necessary safety measures are being implemented.
Blue Colts and patrol teams are increasing their patrols around the city. Traffic management will be more robust at key intersections during the procession.
Police have urged Ganesh mandap organizers to immerse idols promptly and assured them of logistical support. Officers received instructions to use extra VHF sets to avoid communication issues. Coordination with GHMC officials is required to keep the procession route clear of obstacles.
Officials are tasked with ensuring that welcome stages do not block roads and that idols do not encounter issues with cables or tree branches. Additional CP Law & Order Vikram Singh Mann, Additional CP Crime P Vishwa Prasad, Joint CP Traffic D Joel Davis, DCP Special Branch K Apoorva Rao, DCP IT Cell Pushpa, along with zonal DCPs, joined the video conference virtually.
