Hyderabad saw rain for the third day in a row on Sunday. Many areas in the east, south, and center of the city got heavy rain. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned of more rain for the next two days in Hyderabad.

Rain hit places like Amberpet, Tarnaka, Uppal, Habsiguda, Kapra, Nacharam, Mallapur, LB Nagar, Hayathnagar, Vanasthalipuram, Malakpet, Chaderghat, Saidabad, Santosh Nagar, Himayat Nagar, Nallakunta, Nampally, and Basheerbagh.

The IMD says a surface trough is forming in the Bay of Bengal, leading to low pressure in the North Bay on July 24. Rain is expected in the Telugu states for two more days, with heavy rain likely in several Telangana districts.

IMD Hyderabad predicts heavy to very heavy rain for the next two days. A forecast on Sunday mentioned that Hyderabad and other districts will receive heavy rain for three to four more days.

An orange alert signals very heavy rain between 115.6 mm and 204.4 mm, while a yellow alert indicates heavy rain between 64.5 mm and 115.6 mm from Monday to Thursday. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected in most parts of Telangana until July 26.

Due to the heavy rains in Hyderabad, the Telangana government told authorities to help move people to safer areas in flood-prone spots. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is consulting with senior officials about the situation and has suggested steps to reduce risks from the rain.

The Chief Minister stressed actions to prevent water buildup and urged residents to report issues in low-lying areas to local authorities quickly. The GHMC Commissioner, District Collector, HYDRAA Commissioner, Police Commissioner, and Water Works officials are on alert for ongoing rain.

Meanwhile, the twin reservoirs, Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar, are seeing moderate water inflows. As of 8 am on Sunday, both are below their Full Tank Levels (FTL).

Osman Sagar has an FTL of 1790.00 feet (3.900 TMC) and is now at 1782.80 feet, holding 2.474 TMC of water with inflows of 370 cusecs. No outflows are reported, and the gates are shut.

Himayat Sagar has an FTL of 1763.50 feet (2.970 TMC) and currently stands at 1759.15 feet with 2.164 TMC of water. It receives inflows of 200 cusecs, with no outflows and closed gates.
