Telangana’s Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, has asked doctors from private and corporate hospitals to dedicate one month each year to work in government hospitals. This request is part of a social responsibility initiative.
Revanth Reddy’s primary aim since taking office has been to ensure free and quality education and healthcare for the poor. He believes doctors can play a significant role in achieving this goal by volunteering their time to help those in need.
The Chief Minister mentioned that doctors can continue their regular jobs for 11 months. However, he encourages them to spend one month treating patients in government hospitals. This service can provide true job satisfaction by helping those who cannot afford costly medical treatments.
This appeal extends not only to doctors in Telangana and Hyderabad but also to Indian-origin doctors living abroad, especially in countries like the United States. Many of these doctors want to return to India and contribute but lack a clear pathway to do so.
To address this, Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to establish a special platform. This platform will allow both local and international doctors to register and offer their services in public hospitals.
