Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has asked officials to make the Prajavani programme more transparent. This programme handles public complaints and has been working well across the state. He suggested that all district-level activities under Prajavani should be connected to the central dashboard at Prajabhavan so everything can be tracked more easily.
At a high-level meeting held at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar State Secretariat, the Chief Minister reviewed how Prajavani is doing. The programme is held twice a week at Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Prajabhavan. He looked at how many complaints had been received, how many were resolved, and how officials are handling them.
Officials shared that since the programme began in December 2023, it has been held 117 times. During this time, 54,619 petitions have been submitted. Out of these, 37,384 petitions — about 68.4% — have already been resolved.
The Chief Minister also said that information about government welfare schemes should be made available online in a clear and open way. He asked for a new online portal where people can check updates on these schemes and see who has benefited from them.
Officials explained that special desks have been set up under Prajavani for different departments. One of these is the Pravasi Prajavani desk, which helps people working abroad, especially in Gulf countries. They have also arranged for quick solutions to urgent complaints and even ambulance services on Prajavani days.
The Chief Minister requested live access to the Prajavani dashboard. This would let him monitor complaints and how they’re being handled from anywhere, helping him guide officials quickly when needed.
He also highlighted the need to protect people’s personal information. He asked for a review to decide which details should stay private as per existing laws. A committee of senior officers will be set up to create rules for this.
The meeting was attended by Ministers Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and Ponnam Prabhakar, Planning Commission Vice Chairman Chinna Reddy, Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, Prajavani Nodal Officer Divya, and other top officials from different departments.
