The Telangana government is planning to improve public hospitals and make them look and feel more like private hospitals. Many people currently avoid government hospitals because they think they won’t get good service or clear answers. To change this, the government is creating a new policy to improve the image and quality of public hospitals.
As part of the plan, hospitals will be painted in bright colors and kept clean to make them more welcoming. A reception and helpdesk with staff in uniform will be added to help guide patients. In children’s wards, there will be toys and colorful pictures to make the space more friendly for kids. Hospitals will also have better lighting and cleaner facilities.
The government is also working to improve medical services. This includes better care for elderly patients, special services such as trauma care, cancer care, and palliative care, and clinics for chronic diseases in every district. They also plan to use artificial intelligence (AI) to make hospital services faster.
To help pay for all these changes, the government is planning to get a ₹4,150 crore loan from the World Bank. Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha is leading this project to upgrade and brand government hospitals throughout Telangana.
