    Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has urged district collectors and officials to speed up paddy procurement at the designated centres, ensuring farmers face no difficulties.

    During a video conference with district collectors on Tuesday, the Chief Minister highlighted the smooth and efficient process of paddy procurement and payments this year. He stated that both fine and coarse paddy varieties would be procured separately, with immediate payments made to farmers. Additionally, fine paddy will receive bonuses.

    The Chief Minister directed officials to provide all necessary basic facilities at the procurement centres to make the process hassle-free for farmers. He also assigned in-charge ministers and officers to visit these centres in their respective districts to monitor the procurement process closely.

    Officials were instructed to submit daily reports on paddy procurement and ensure the availability of lorries for transporting paddy to rice mills. The CM emphasized the importance of maintaining efficiency and transparency throughout the process.

    Revanth Reddy announced plans to celebrate the “Farmer Festival” in Mahabubnagar on November 30. Leading up to the festival, an exhibition will be held on November 28, 29, and 30, focusing on agriculture and allied sectors. The exhibition will include farmer awareness programs, modern farming methods, mechanization techniques, and success stories of model farmers. He urged all district collectors to work together to make the event a grand success.

    The Chief Minister also warned against irregularities by millers and instructed the collectors to take strict action against those involved. To further streamline the process, he ordered the appointment of additional staff at procurement centres to accelerate paddy purchases.
