The Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are currently facing a significant drop in temperatures as cold wave conditions intensify across many areas. On Sunday, Patancheru in Telangana recorded a low of 13.2 degrees Celsius, making it one of the coldest days of the season so far.

In Andhra Pradesh, dense fog has covered several agency regions, disrupting daily life. The thick fog has greatly reduced visibility, causing delays in transportation and creating challenges for people commuting in the early mornings.

Meteorologists explain that the drop in temperatures is due to north-easterly winds and clear skies, which are common during this time of the year. They have advised residents, especially the elderly and children, to take precautions to stay warm, particularly during the night and early morning hours.

The chilly weather is expected to continue in the coming days. Temperatures may drop even further in interior parts of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, so people are urged to remain prepared for the cold.
