Khammam: On Sunday, District Collector Anudeep Durishetty announced that the government is ensuring free sand for building Indiramma houses. The sand will be available at no cost, and there won’t be any sieving fees.
Sand collection points have been set up in several locations: Kalakota, Brahmanapalli, and Rayannapeta in Bonakal mandal; Gandhasiri, Gangapuram, Pedda Mandava in Mudigonda mandal; Chinna Mandava in Chintakani mandal; and Kammampadu, Chilukuru, Nakkala Garubu in Madhira mandal. Additional sites include Takkela Padu, Ingali, Choppakatlapalem in Errupalem mandal; Mujidu Puram, Hyder Sai Peta in Tirumalayapalem mandal; Jakkepalli in Kusumanchi mandal; Gollagudem in Tallada mandal; and Khanapuram and Veppalamadaka in Vaira mandal.
Durishetty stated that beneficiaries will receive a coupon from the Tahsildar, based on proposals from the AE. Each coupon is valid for three days.
The Swashakti Mahila Sanghs will oversee the sand distribution, ensuring beneficiaries collect only their allotted amount. Sand transport must occur between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm using either bullock carts or tractors.
