Gadwal: District Collector B.M. Santosh has urged officials to guide beneficiaries of the Indiramma Housing Scheme to build quality houses cost-effectively and finish them promptly.
On Tuesday, he visited construction sites in Ward No. 6 of Aiza Municipality to check the progress and quality. Out of 12 approved houses, 5 had reached the roof stage, and 7 were at the basement level.
The Collector asked housing engineers and other officials to support beneficiaries by suggesting ways to construct durable homes inexpensively. He stressed that government funds should be deposited in beneficiaries’ bank accounts in phases to help them finish construction swiftly.
He also reminded everyone that the government provides sand for free, and beneficiaries only need to cover labor and transport costs. Officials were instructed to make sure there was enough sand and soil and that building materials were always available.
During the visit, the Collector talked to beneficiaries about any problems they faced during construction. He promised ongoing phased release of funds and encouraged them to complete their houses quickly.
The inspection was attended by Municipal Commissioner Saidulu, Municipal Manager Ashok Reddy, Housing AE Vamshi, Ward Officer Bharat, and other staff members.
