Collector instructs officials to prioritize afforestation campaign

Mahbubnagar: District Collector G Ravi Nayak has emphasized the importance of prioritizing the plantation of commercial forestry. He directed officials to complete the plantation of tree saplings within seven days. The district has been experiencing continuous rainfall for the past two weeks, and the Collector instructed officials at the mandal Gram Panchayati level to prioritize the plantation program under the Telanganaku Haritha Haaram initiative.

The Collector also addressed the issue of land identification for stadiums in various Gram Panchayaties. He instructed officials to secure the acquired land and immediately set up sports grounds with necessary facilities in villages and at mandal levels.

Additionally, the Collector emphasized the development of commercial forestry (Sampada Vanalu) and urged officials to plant saplings on designated acres of land. This will generate revenue in the future from the forestry. To expedite the plantation program, the Collector directed officials to speed up the digging of pits and complete unfinished natural forestry projects.
