Nirmal: District Collector Abhilasha Abhinav has announced that the district will crack down on those selling counterfeit seeds, fertilizers, and medicines.
On Friday, she unexpectedly visited the Arun Agency Fertilizer shop near the town’s bus stand. She checked the packaging, labels, sales records, and storage of seeds and pesticides. She emphasized that fake seeds are severely harming farmers. She directed the Agriculture Department to prevent these incidents from happening again. She stressed the need for strict measures against the distribution and sale of counterfeit seeds to safeguard farmers’ interests.
Officials were instructed to regularly inspect shops. Agriculture Officer Rajasekhar, Tehsildar Raju, and other staff were present during the inspection.
