Sanathnagar constituency is expected to have a triangular contest in the upcoming Assembly polls. Both the Congress and BJP parties are expected to field strong candidates and take advantage of the anti-incumbency factor.

The current MLA, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, is likely to be re-elected. He has won five previous MLA elections and is well-known in local politics. He holds positions overseeing Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Cinematography.

A prominent contender from the Congress party is Kota Neelima, who has transitioned from journalism to politics. She is currently the general secretary of the Pradesh Congress Committee and is married to Pawan Khera, a notable figure in the party. Kota Neelima has a strong educational background and is recognized as a social activist.

There are other local politicians who are also potential candidates, including Marri Aditya Reddy, the son of former Minister Marri Shashidhar Reddy, and Md Ayub Khan, a former Corporator from Sanathnagar. Political analysts are interested in the possibility of both father and son contesting from national parties.

Marri Shashidhar Reddy, who has represented the constituency multiple times, is a strong contender for the BJP. He previously served as Vice Chairman at National Disaster Management Authority and wants to make a comeback representing the BJP. Other aspirants from the party include B Shyam Sunder Goud, Kurma Hemalatha, and Akula Vijaya.

Both the Congress and BJP parties are expected to benefit from the anti-incumbency factor locally. However, political analysts believe that with more candidates from Sanathnagar, including the possibility of TDP joining the race, it may strengthen Talasani’s chances of winning.
