Gadwal: A large protest was held at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Hyderabad today. The demonstration was organized by the Congress Party as part of a nationwide protest called by the All India Congress Committee (AICC).
One of the main speakers at the event was Dr. S.A. Sampath Kumar, AICC Secretary and former MLA. In his speech, he strongly criticized the BJP government, calling it a “fascist regime” and accusing it of using central agencies for political revenge against Congress leaders.
Dr. Sampath Kumar said that the BJP government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is attacking democratic institutions across India. He claimed that false and illegal cases have been filed against Rahul Gandhi because the BJP cannot handle his growing popularity.
He also spoke about the National Herald case, in which Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi have been accused of money laundering. Dr. Sampath Kumar argued that the case is baseless since there were no actual monetary transactions involved. He said the ₹90 crore loan given to the newspaper was not illegal and accused the BJP of using the case to target the Gandhi family before key elections like those in Bihar.
According to Dr. Sampath Kumar, the Gandhi family has always faced legal challenges bravely and stood firm for the nation. He accused Modi and Amit Shah of regularly using government agencies to go after opposition leaders whenever elections are near.
The protest, he said, is meant to expose the BJP’s misuse of power and to make the people of Telangana aware of what is happening. He also praised Rahul Gandhi, calling him a fighter who cannot be silenced by false cases.
Dr. Sampath Kumar mentioned recent AICC meetings held in Gujarat and said that the BJP is beginning to feel nervous. He declared that Gujarat could be the starting point of the BJP’s downfall.
He ended his speech by highlighting the sacrifices made by the Gandhi family for the country. He said they have given up their wealth and comfort for India and continue to work for its betterment.
Many senior Congress leaders took part in the protest. These included TPCC President Bomma Mahesh Kumar Goud, AICC Telangana In-Charge Meenakshi Natarajan, and Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Jupalli Krishna Rao, and Konda Surekha. Several sitting and former MLAs, MPs, party leaders, and Corporation Chairpersons also attended, showing unity and determination.
The protest ended peacefully but sent a strong message: the Congress Party is prepared to challenge the BJP both politically and legally to protect democracy and its leadership.
