Hyderabad: Several Japanese companies are showing interest in investing in Hyderabad’s upcoming Future City and the planned Film City.
One of the major companies, Marubeni Corporation, announced plans to build a next-generation industrial park in the Future City. They plan to invest ₹1,000 crore to start the project. At the same time, Sony Corporation is considering setting up its animation division in the proposed Film City in Telangana.
On the first day of his official visit to Japan, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy led a team that met with senior leaders of Marubeni Corporation in Tokyo. Marubeni is a well-known Japanese company with businesses in energy, transport, real estate, medical services, and more.
After discussions, Marubeni officially agreed to set up an advanced industrial park in the Future City. A Letter of Intent was signed between the company and the Telangana government.
The proposed industrial park will be built in phases over 600 acres. It will mainly serve Japanese and other international companies that want to set up factories in Hyderabad. The entire project could bring in more than ₹5,000 crore in additional investments.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said, “The Marubeni industrial park will be one of the first major projects in the Future City. It is expected to create 30,000 direct and indirect jobs, boosting employment and improving skills in Telangana.”
In another meeting, the Chief Minister’s team met with Sony Corporation officials. They highlighted Hyderabad’s growing strength in animation, visual effects (VFX), and gaming. CM Revanth Reddy also shared his vision of building a modern Film City that would support full film production processes.
