Internal Conflicts Erupt in Karimnagar Congress over DCC President Election
Internal differences in the Karimnagar Congress took a turn for the worse on Thursday. With the All India Congress Committee (AICC) representatives in town to gather public opinion for the District Congress Committee (DCC) president elections, party workers clashed openly, leading to tension on the ground.
The AICC representatives, Srinivas Mane and Aatram Suguna, arrived in the city to conduct a public opinion poll for the DCC president election at the DCC building. However, the situation escalated when a group of party workers locked the DCC office in protest. They accused the party of ignoring their opinions in the selection of the president.
Amidst rising tempers, the situation turned violent with party workers physically clashing with each other. Despite party representatives trying to calm the situation, the agitated workers continued to fight among themselves.
High Tensions and Clashes
A charged atmosphere prevailed as workers from both factions indulged in a war of words, leading to a tense situation that lasted nearly two hours. Appeals from party representatives to suspend those involved in the clashes fell on deaf ears.
The police force had to be called in to handle the escalating situation, but their efforts to bring the situation under control proved futile.
The ongoing internal conflicts within the Karimnagar Congress are expected to impact the party’s functioning and future strategies. This incident has highlighted the deep divisions within the party ahead of the crucial DCC president election.
As the situation remains tense, it is yet to be seen how the party will resolve the internal conflicts and move forward unitedly for the upcoming DCC president election.
