Gadwal saw a heartfelt tribute to Karl Marx on his 207th birth anniversary as members of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) gathered at the party’s district office on Monday.
The event honored Karl Marx, a global figure known for his groundbreaking work as an economist, philosopher, and political thinker. Party leaders praised his contributions, calling him a visionary who fundamentally changed how the world understands class and economy.
CPM State Leader Kotam Raju and District Secretary A. Venkataswamy led the commemoration. They described Marx as a powerful voice for the working class. “He was the first to clearly expose how labor is exploited by capital,” said Raju. “His ideas are more relevant than ever as we face growing economic inequality.”
The leaders stressed the importance of Marx’s key work, Das Kapital, calling it a beacon for the oppressed. They accused current governments of favoring the ultra-rich while neglecting workers’ rights and welfare. “Today’s policies reward billionaires and leave ordinary people struggling,” said Venkataswamy.
They urged young people to study Marx’s life and ideas, encouraging them to take active roles in shaping a fairer society. “Understanding Marx is the first step toward change,” Raju added.
The leaders also called for unity among communist forces to continue the fight for justice and equality, following the path Marx laid out more than two centuries ago.
Several prominent CPM members attended the event, including V.V. Narasimha and Singaraju Maddileti, showing solidarity and commitment to Marx’s enduring legacy.
