CS Santhi Kumari Emphasizes Increased Greenery with the Arrival of Haritha Haaram

The Telangana government is planning to improve greenery in irrigation project sites and along canals in the upcoming Haritha Haaram program. The Chief Secretary, Santhi Kumari, reviewed the preparations for the program with relevant departments and officials. She wants saplings to be planted on vacant areas belonging to the State Irrigation department, creating “wealth forests” with fruit-bearing trees.

Special teams will be formed to inspect sites district-wise and identify tree species for planting. The Chief Secretary also wants to take protective measures for avenue plantation along all canals. Black plantation will be taken up wherever available and the cooperation of nearby villagers and farmers will be sought.

The Chief Secretary also reviewed the progress of the Haritha Vanaalu plantation program in forest lands, and wants to achieve targets in all Haritha Vanaalu in the coming season. PCCF RM Dobriyal, Principal Secretary Panchayat Raj Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Commissioner PR&RD Hanumantha Rao, Special Commissioner VSNV Prasad, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
