Hyderabad: On Wednesday, CV Anand, the police commissioner of Hyderabad, opened a new child care center at the City Armed Reserve Headquarters in Petlaburj. This facility is designed to support women police officers by providing care for their children while they fulfill their duties.
Commissioner CV Anand highlighted that the center allows women officers to bring their children to work. This setup eases stress and logistical challenges for working mothers, ensuring their children are well cared for during their shifts.
The child care center features a kitchen offering nutritious meals, managed by trained staff. It includes indoor and outdoor play zones, swings, feeding and medical rooms, and a dormitory for pregnant women. Supervision is enhanced with CCTV coverage.
CV Anand expressed pride in this initiative, stating it’s the largest welfare project in his 34-year career. All employees of the Hyderabad City Police can use this facility. He acknowledged the hard work and success of women officers in the police force.
Dr. Ravi Reddy, MEIL Director, shared that improving the lives of police officers through this project is fulfilling. The MEIL Foundation considers this their most significant venture.
Pamireddy Manjula Reddy, Pamireddy Megha Reddy, and Shri Murali from Megha Engineering attended the event. The new G+1 building accommodates 150-200 children aged 0-5 years. Built on a 15,000 sq. ft. area, the project cost approximately Rs 5 crore and is part of MEIL’s CSR efforts.
Key officials, including Vikram Singh Mann, D Joel Davis, S Chaitanya Kumar, B Balaswamy, Chandramohan, and YVS Sudheendra, were present at the inauguration.
