    Hyderabad: The Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TGSPDCL) has taken steps to meet the rising electricity demand in Cyber City Circle, a major IT hub in Greater Hyderabad.

    Musharraf Ali Faruqui, Chairman and Managing Director of TGSPDCL, reviewed the summer action plan for the area. As part of the plan, new power transformers of 12.5 MVA and 8 MVA were installed at the Puppalaguda, L&T, and Hafeezpet 33/11 kV substations.

    He also stated that 25 additional power transformers, 128 new 11 kV feeders, 4 new 33 kV feeders, and 232 distribution transformers have been set up across the circle to handle the increased demand.

    The electricity demand in Gachibowli, Kondapur, and Ibrahim Bagh within the Cyber City Circle rises by 35% every year. Last year, some areas experienced overloading due to a lack of proper arrangements. To prevent similar issues this year, several precautionary measures have been taken.
