Deputy Superintendent of Police Sattiah attended an awareness meeting about cyber crime at Gadwal bus stand. He emphasized the importance of reporting cyber fraud immediately by calling 1930 or visiting www.cybercrime.gov.in.
The event was organized by the District cyber crime bureau’s cyber security division to educate passengers and students in the bus stand area on Cyber Jagruti Divas.
DSP Sattiah advised against sharing OTPs, clicking on suspicious links, and responding to questionable messages or calls on social media offering free gifts or prizes. He warned about new strategies used by cyber criminals, such as sending fake links during IPL matches.
Sub-inspector Raju highlighted the threat of criminals pretending to be law enforcement and urged immediate reporting to the nearest police station in case of suspicious calls or messages.
It is important to be cautious of online offers promising valuable goods at low prices, and to report any incidents through the NC RP portal at www.cybercrime.gov.in for prompt police response and potential recovery of lost funds.
The event was also attended by Two Town SI Kondur Ramu, Ramu police, and other officials.
