Cyberabad experienced intense rainfall on Friday evening, with several areas recording significant precipitation within a short span of one hour between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Miyapur recorded the highest rainfall at 53.3 mm, followed closely by Kukatpally at 52 mm. Other severely affected areas included Hafeezpet with 47.5 mm, KPHB Colony at 46 mm, Shaikpet at 44.3 mm, and Khajaguda at 43.3 mm. Raidurg and Madhapur received 30.8 mm and 27.5 mm respectively during the same period.

The sudden and concentrated downpour led to widespread water stagnation and traffic disruptions at multiple locations across the region. Commuters faced significant delays as roads became waterlogged, causing considerable inconvenience to residents trying to navigate through the affected areas. The heavy rainfall caught many off guard, leading to chaotic traffic conditions during the peak evening hours.

Following the rainfall event, the Commissioner of Cyberabad Municipal Corporation, along with Zonal Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Engineering officials, and Monsoon Emergency Teams, immediately reviewed the situation on ground. The officials conducted comprehensive inspections of all affected areas to assess the extent of damage and identify critical points requiring immediate attention.

Working in close coordination with the Cyberabad Police and Traffic Police, field teams were deployed to monitor vulnerable locations across the municipal area. The teams actively regulated traffic movement where required and attended to water stagnation points on priority basis. The coordinated effort between multiple departments ensured that emergency response measures were implemented swiftly to minimize disruption to normal life.

Officials have identified both existing and newly emerging waterlogging locations during their inspections. The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation has initiated corrective measures to strengthen drainage management systems and improve preparedness for future rainfall events. The civic body is working on long-term solutions to address recurring waterlogging issues in the identified vulnerable zones.

CMC teams, in coordination with Police, Traffic, and other line departments, continue to remain deployed on the ground, actively monitoring weather conditions and taking necessary measures to minimize inconvenience to citizens during periods of heavy rainfall. The municipal corporation has assured residents that all necessary steps are being taken to handle monsoon-related challenges effectively.
