DCA takes fake drugs worth Rs 5.21 lakh

Hyderabad: Officials from the Telangana Drugs Control Administration (DCA) conducted a raid in Moosarambagh, Malakpet, uncovering fake drugs valued at Rs 5.21 lakh. The confiscated products included medicines for diabetes, high blood pressure, and abortion kits.

Following a tip-off about illegal drug storage without a license, the DCA searched a house in the area. They arrested Puvvada Lakshmana, who has previous involvement in selling counterfeit drugs.

The DCA revealed that Lakshmana had stored a significant amount of medicines at his home improperly.

During the operation, authorities seized various drugs. Among them were Tazloc-CT 6.25 tablets, falsely labeled as manufactured by Madras Pharmaceuticals and marketed by USV Pvt. Ltd. Other seized items included Dapacose-10 and Dapacose-5 tablets, allegedly produced by InnovaCaptab Ltd. and marketed by J.B. Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Additionally, Clear-Kit Tablets, wrongly reported to be from Maxcare Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., were taken.

Samples of these drugs are being tested for authenticity. The investigation into this matter continues.
