A special drive is underway to clear pending applications related to Dharani in Hyderabad. The goal now is to complete the task by June 4. Over 1.5 lakh out of 2.45 lakh applications have been cleared before the Election Code was enforced, leaving the rest pending.
The committee, led by M Kodanda Reddy, has held a review meeting at the Secretariat following the Lok Sabha polls. They will soon submit a report to the government on Dharani and have decided to speed up the process of addressing all grievances by June 4. The panel discussed land disputes arising from the implementation of the Dharani portal by the previous government and believes that replacing 76 modules will resolve existing flaws. It was noted that loopholes allowed individuals in the previous government to encroach upon lands and transfer properties, including assigned and prohibited lands, into their names.
Initially, a special drive was scheduled from March 1 to 9 for officials to clear the 2.45 lakh applications within that timeframe. However, the dates were extended before the Election Code took effect.
