The Meteorological Department has predicted moderate to heavy rains in Telangana until May 23. On May 22, a low-pressure area is expected to form over the Southwest Bay of Bengal, possibly becoming a cyclone by May 24. An upper trough from Sri Lanka through Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema at 3.1 km above sea level is impacting the current weather patterns, extending to northern parts of Tamil Nadu.
The Southwest Monsoon is active in the South Andaman Sea and is forecasted to move over the southeast Bay of Bengal by tomorrow. Both states should be cautious and take necessary precautions to stay safe.
