District Collector Dr. Priyanka Ala participated in the Badibata program in Prashant Nagar Colony of Palvancha Mandal as schools opened on Wednesday. During the event, residents complained to the Collector about not receiving drinking water for a long time. The Collector asked for an explanation from Municipal D E Muralikrishna, who insisted that water was being supplied. To verify this, the Collector checked a nearby house’s tap to see if fresh water was coming out.
Upon confirming that there was indeed no drinking water supply, Additional local bodies issued a show cause notice to Municipal D E Muralikrishna for providing false information. Collector Vidya Chandana then ordered officials to restore the drinking water supply immediately and requested a report on the situation from the Municipal Commissioner.
