Gadwal: District Additional Collector Lakshmi Narayana stressed the need for a flawless voter list and instructed officials to be precise in their tasks. He spoke on Thursday at a national training event for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) at M.A.L.D. College, following the Election Commission of India guidelines.
From July 3 to July 9, BLOs from the 79-Gadwal Assembly Constituency are receiving training. The Additional Collector mentioned that 50 BLOs will attend each day. The sessions cover Form 6 (new voter enrollment), Form 7 (name deletion), and Form 8 (voter detail updates).
He highlighted the vital role of BLOs in elections, urging them to act responsibly. They must review current voter lists and correct errors. All citizens aged 18 and above should be registered as voters without exception.
Officials are tasked with conducting thorough door-to-door surveys in their areas to ensure error-free voter lists. This includes removing deceased names and correcting voter information discrepancies. An accurate list ensures smooth elections, according to the Additional Collector.
He urged BLOs to focus on revising the list, correcting mistakes, and completing updates promptly and efficiently.
The training was attended by Gadwal Tahsildar Mallikarjun, Master Trainers Ashok and Naresh, Senior Assistant Nagesh, revenue staff, and many BLOs.
